Please find the attached presentation of the Year 11 Information Evening that took place on Wednesday 29th September. There is key information pertaining to general Year 11 issues, as well as subject specific information for Maths, Science and English. If you have any questions after looking through this, please get in touch at your earliest convenience. Mr Beeching
I would like to welcome parents, carers and students back to Brighton Hill Community School and hope that you all had an enjoyable summer holiday.
I have been incredibly proud of how the year group have responded to the very challenging last few years and the disruptions caused by the global pandemic. The Class of 2022 have repeatedly shown their resilience, determination and maturity throughout the last two years. Clearly, there will now start to be an increased focus on the students' academic progress as we build towards their final GCSE exams in the summer. It is crucial that students know their current attainment and how they can improve their progress to get to the next level. Their teachers will regularly be talking to them about this, and I urge parents to also engage in this topic of conversation when our students get home.
As always, we encourage open communication with all stakeholders. Please do email your child’s tutor or me if you have any concerns or questions so we can work collaboratively to ensure the Class of 2022 continue to thrive at school and go on to achieve, or even surpass, their own hopes for the year.
Our tutor team once again remains stable, and therefore the students will benefit from consistent tutoring as they move forwards towards their exams. I am absolutely delighted about this as the team works tirelessly for the benefit of all the students. I could not ask for a more committed and caring tutor team and I know the students appreciate them hugely.
In what can sometimes be an anxiety inducing period for teenagers, I will leave with the two phrases that I say a lot to the year group:
'Be the best version of yourselves'
'If not you, who? If not now, when?'
