End of Autumn Term Letter

25 November 2016

As the Autumn term draws to a close I would like to take the opportunity to inform you of some key information regarding the end of term as well as an update from Mr Edwards our new Headteacher who will commence work with the school from January.

Arrangements for the last day of term / first day of the spring term

The last day of term is Friday, 16 December 2016 and students will be dismissed at 12.30pm, following afternoon registration.  However, those students who are in receipt of free school meals will be able to have their lunch at the normal time between 12.30pm and 12.50pm in the school dining room.

Please can we ask as usual for you to remind your child to take all belongings with them from their tutor base and lockers over the Christmas break as the school will be closed for the majority of the holidays.

The spring terms begins for all students on Tuesday, 3 January 2017. All students are expected to arrive promptly for the start of the school day with tutor time commencing as usual at 8.25am.

Mr Chris Edwards - Headteacher

“It is with great pride that I write to you as the incoming Headteacher of Brighton Hill Community School.  It is very clear to me that there are exciting times ahead for the school and I am incredibly excited about starting the role officially in January.  I have been fortunate enough to visit the school since my appointment and have been impressed by all of the many students I have met so far.  I had the privilege of speaking at the annual Presentation Evening to the school's Class of 2016, whose fantastic results will take some beating, but records are there to be broken and that is exactly what we expect the Class of 2017 to do!
I'd like to extend my thanks to all of the students, parents and staff who have given me such a warm welcome and I look forward to meeting many more of you as we enter the new year and beyond."

It has been a very good start to the school year and I would like to thank-you for your continued support over the last term and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year when it arrives.

Yours sincerely

Miss Halsey
Acting Headteacher
