School Car Park Barrier

May 2017

Dear Parents/Carers

School Car Park Barrier

As you may be aware the entry barrier installed at the entrance of our car park is now fully operational. The school site will be accessible via an intercom system.  If you need permission at any time in the future, please complete a form on reception with your car details which will allow the barrier to rise via number plate recognition.

The barrier will be in operation (ie.closed) daily at the following times:

  • Mornings: between 8am and 9am
  • Afternoons: between 2.30 and 3.30pm

As you would expect, the safety of our students is paramount and we believe the current arrangements make it difficult for us to be confident that our students are as safe as possible at the beginning and end of the school day.  Some parents park on the turning circle, blocking it and causing safety concerns and some park on the double yellow lines, and we would appreciate it if you could avoid this in the future.

We fully appreciate that some parents need to drive their children to and from school but would ask that they park away from the school entrance in order to help ensure congestion is kept to a minimum.  While some might feel that these measures are an inconvenience to them I sincerely hope that it is understood that our priority has to be the safety of all children in our care.

Yours sincerely
