A Foundation GCSE year for Year 9 is currently being developed as part of Key Stage 4.  The aim is to prepare students for the demands and rigours of GCSE and to introduce some of the techniques for interpreting the more complex questions that are typically found in these examinations.  Students in Year 10 begin to prepare more formally for their exam, which is assessed by the Edexcel Examination Board.  We make regular use of assessment-style materials to provide feedback to students and track their progress.  These also enable them to reflect on their own performance in relation to the examination target and plan their revision accordingly.
