Brighton Hill Community School

Meet our Staff

Our teaching staff are fully committed to our students with a passion for inspiring learning and progress.

"Welcome all year 5 and 6 students. As the head of year 7 and Transition Learning Manager at Brighton Hill, it is my job to make sure all of you settle in to life at secondary school as best you can. I spend time in all the junior schools getting to know many of you and working with your year 6 teachers to make the transition to Brighton Hill as smooth as we can. We pride ourselves on our relationships with your school and I hope you find the primary website helpful in getting to know the our school a little better. I look forward to meeting many of you over the next year or two and hopefully help you settle in when you join us at Brighton Hill"

Mr Du-Heaume
Head of Year 7

"I am Miss Heath and I work closely with the Head of Year 7 and the staff from the Flexible Learning Centre (FLC)

You will see me attending meetings at Primary schools to discuss the needs of students with SEN and also to help with IPAs or EHC Plan reviews for students in Year 5 or 6 who want to come to Brighton Hill Community School. I also will meet students and can arrange extra- transition visits for students with SEN to meet the staff and some of our students at BHCS."

Miss Heath

"I am Mr Coley (Assistant Headteacher). I teach PE, Psychology and Geography, with my favourite sport being football. At BHCS I work closely with Mr Du-Heaume to ensure your transfer to BHCS is smooth and that Year 7 is a good year. I ensure that your Year 6 Taster Days are fun, exciting and enjoyable."

Mr Coley
Assistant Headteacher

"My name is Miss Thomas and I am the Family Support worker at Brighton Hill, I have been working here for 7 years.

I am based in the Flexible Learning Centre (FLC) which is a facility where student support is based and has been designed to enhance student access to education, aiming to provide a personalised bespoke experience designed to impact positively on learning, on wider outcomes and to ultimately improve their attainment levels.

In the FLC I work alongside other key members of the team - Mrs Richards and Mrs Mallin, we support you in making sure your attendance rate is as high as possible, we look after you when you are feeling unwell or need to take medication and we look after you if you are feeling upset about something that has happened.

One of the most important things I do is work alongside your parents or carers so you may get to meet me at home or in your Primary schools. It is really important that we work closely with your parents/carers to ensure you get the best from our school.
