What is University? 

University is a form of higher education after college, which enables you to focus your education into one area of your choice.

Why go to university?

  • Develops transferable skills
  • Grows your independence
  • Boost your career prospects
  • Chance to make new friends 
  • Opportunity to take up a new hobby (Societies)

How much will it cost?

University fees are paid by a student loan, which is offered by the Government and then is paid back when your salary reaches a certain amount.

  • England: £9,250 a year
  • Wales: £9,000 a year
  • Northern Ireland: £4,710 a year for Northern Irish students, or £9,250 a year for other UK students

*additional money for a student maintenance loan (money given for things such as rent and food)

Unique Degrees you can get at university 

  • Air Transport with Helicopter Training
  • Baking Science and Technology
  • Prop Making
  • Golf management 


Activities

Research a local university, the University of Winchester and/or the University of Reading and see what they offer regarding school activities.
