Year 9

Welcome to the Head of Year 9 page – I am lucky enough to have been with the Class of 2026 since the end of Year 8 and look forward to supporting them throughout their time at Brighton Hill. Year 9 is a crucial year for students as they begin their GCSE Option Choices and are now considered to be in Key Stage 4.

Throughout Year 9, there will be plenty of support for both academic and pastoral needs, and I will always be on hand to deal with any issues, worries or concerns. Tutors are best placed to deal with concerns on a day-to-day basis, however, please do not hesitate to email me or leave a message with reception.

This year I am lucky enough to have the support of Mr Colmer, who is working as the Deputy Head of Year 9 and will oversee several projects, including focussing on improving attendance within the year group.

Below are some Key Dates to have in your diary for the academic year ahead:

18th March – Y9 information evening

18-29th March – Y9 Foundation exam window

13th May – Progress trackers issued to parents/guardians

15th May – Parents evening (A-side)

22nd May – Parents evening (B-side)
